Rylan did the funniest thing today! I had some visits to go do for some sisters here at church. So, we arrived at my friend Michelle's house and she is dog sitting all summer for her neighbor. The dog...never caught it's name, looks exactly like my sisters dog Duke, who Rylan just fell in love with during our visit with them in November of 2007. The minute Rylan saw this dog he looked up at me holding my hand and said, "Mommy, Look, Duke". He was so excited but yet a little anxious. Michelle ended up putting the dog outside on her front porch while we were visiting her. To give you an idea of her living room (she lives off base) it's very open and she has this huge bay front window. I think it may have been a sliding glass door now that I think about it. Anyways, sitting in the living room you could see the dog sitting on the front porch just hang'n out doing his own thing. So as time went by while we were talking, out of the corner of my eye I see Rylan going over to the Kleenex box getting a tissue and then walked over to the window where the dog was outside. I called over to Rylan and asked if he needed help thinking he needed tissue for his nose. He replied, "No, Duke". So then we all looked at the dog and he was standing right in front of Rylan outside on the front porch starring at him through the window with these "huge strands of drool" hanging from each side of his mouth. We just laughed and laughed! Rylan saw the dog with the strands of drool hanging from his mouth and thought the dog could use a Kleenex. In his own little world of thinking, he just walked over to Michelle's tissue box and got the dog some tissue. I can only imagine if the dog had been on Rylan's side of the window, Rylan probably would have wiped the drool from the dogs mouth. Rylan....it seems like these days he is always doing something to makes us laugh.

What a cute picture and story to come home to. We miss our Japan grandkids more after just returning home from our visit and activities with California grandkids which included Tyler's graduation, Hagen's graduation, Hagen's birthday breakfast and evening cookout, watching summer league for Jeffy's basketball games, Tyler's basketball games, Kallie and Hagen's basketball practices, a trip to the mall for Jamba Juice and shopping, church, PaPa's steak cookout, reading books to the twins, sharing special moments and conversation with Cassidy and swims in the neighbor's pool, hiking (4 miles) with Stephanie, twins and Hagen, and watching college world series and conversations/basketball strategy sessions with Jeff. PaPa said he will have to go to Japan to see his other "crew". We love you all and miss you. Call us soon. Mom and Dad
