Leaving on a Jet Plane

Even though you have been gone to various parts of the world over the last few years as well as spend many long hours at work and get many phone calls at all hours of the day and night...
And sometimes you can't tell us what is going on or where you are going when you have to suddenly leave...
We want you to know that we understand.
We want you to know we are grateful to you for serving our country and protecting the freedoms we so dearly cherish...
We want you to know how much you are loved not only by me, but by the four children who yell "daddy" and run up to you to give you a hug the minute you step foot in the door no matter what time it is...
You have many days that things weigh your mind, yet you are able to put your work behind you, come home and take the kids out back and start playing soccer with them or come in and ask "what can I do to help?"...
Not only was I blessed the day I met you, to see the wonderful man you are, but our children have been blessed to see what a wonderful father you are and showing them how a father and husband should be...
Thank you for all that you do...
Thanks for just being you!

We miss you, love you, and are praying for you!
Come home safely...
Melissa, Hunter, Joshua, Hailey, & Rylan

Great tribute to Mark and for Mark. You know how I was telling you I have all your Dad's love letters from his assignments, now you will have your blog and all the special words, music and tributes to put in your memory book. The guys over there don't have the time to "write letters" any more. Love Mom
