Where did February go???

Yes, February has come and gone, but it is a month that is not FORGOTTEN! It's a month that I am blogging to be the worst month of sickness in the Crew household to date. The end of January started off with Josh having strep throat...he got over his rather quickly, but the germ bug linger needless to say and decided to stage a war in my left tonsil that hospitalized me for 4 days! Life literally stopped for me when I was in the ER being told I was being admitted because my left tonsil became abscessed and they needed to drain it. I was just beside myself when I thought, how has this happened, I just came here to get something stronger then the normal Vitamin M (Motrin) that is handed out for pain and now I am being told I'm being admitted! Good friends are so hard to find, but I will have to admit I have found the best while being away from family and best friends in the states. My neighbor Belinda and girlfriend JoAnne along with friends from church all came to the rescue. I owe my life to this group of people who willing just stepped up to help! Knowing that the kids were in great hands it put my mind at ease for the four days I was getting better. The doctors decided to try stronger antibiotics through an i.v. for 24 hours to see if that would grab hold of the infection before attempting to drain it. And what a great blessing it was that they tried the antibiotics first...I responded really well so they didn't have to knock me out to drain my tonsil. I just hung out at the hospital until Monday with an i.v. in my arm as it pumped drugs into my body. Once I got home, it took me a good three weeks to get back on my routine and to get my strength back. The antibiotics I was taking when I got home, 2000 mlg a day, yes that's 2000, really knock me on my butt that I found myself napping in the afternoon and going to bed at 8:00 when the kids went to bed. So with that being said, I have now become a candidate for getting my tonsils out since I have such a bad history of strep throat. I'm looking to do that sometime in June when Mark is on leave.
Once that ordeal was behind me, I came home to Hailey having a head cold and Rylan with a nasty, nasty sinus infection and Josh came down with strep throat AGAIN the following week. Hunter was the lucky one and has escaped any type of sickness this entire winter. As you can imagine, the month went by rather quickly and before we knew it Mark was calling us to tell us he would be home March 1, 2009. How exciting was that breath fresh air of news....FINALLY the Light was at the end of the TUNNEL!
