Why a 3 year old doesn't need GUM

Photobucket

Rylan's new "big boy" thing he likes to do is to go in my purse and seek out GUM, and it can not be what he calls "HOT GUM" (cinnamon gum). A mother's worst nightmare is discovering it in inappropriate places such as hair, the back seat of your car stuck to the seat, the carpet, or in between the bed sheets. Better yet, Rylan's favorite, his tummy! He likes to swallow it no matter how many times I tell when he is finished chewing it to spit it out. I think the best I have experienced with him was on this day at the Spelling Bee finals for Joshua. Reluctantly letting him have a piece, thinking he would swallow it he discovered that he could pull it out of his mouth and make it like a "long piece of spaghetti" (his words not mine). I just laughed when I capture this moment of Rylan playing with his spaghetti. Needless to say, he eventually dropped it on the floor, picked it up and put it back in his mouth. My girlfriend Belinda was with me at the Spelling Bee and saw what he did and made him go and spit it out! Let me assure you, life with this 3 year never has a dull moment.

Too cute. He sure does look like you Melissa and Hunter. Exactly like Hunter when Hunter was his age except Hunter was a blondie!!! Oh yes I remember the gum chewing days with you, Steph and James. I think you got it in your hair at least a dozen times... because you had long curly locks that Steph would not let me cute...not so much chewing by Steph.. but James a constant chomper for years... Take care and glad you are feeling better. Mom
