Christmas Morning

As much as I would have liked to have had one more day, Christmas morning finally got here. Joshua was the first one up at 6:30. He waited patiently for Hunter, Hailey & Rylan to wake up. We turned on my laptop to Skype with Papa and Grammy Barbie. I took it downstairs and set it up across the room in our family room for Papa and Grammy to see all the kids expressions and hear their comments once they came downstairs to see what Santa brought. Rylan was first and his expression is priceless as well as his comment....

Holy French Fry, I got a bike from Santa!
Here he is on his Race Car bike!

Hailey was next and was rather quite and shy when she saw her bike, but the smile on her face in this picture speaks for itself. She has just itching to go outside to ride it but the weather hasn't been that great for her to do so.

Josh was after Hailey and as you can imagine there was much excitement and jumping up and down. He too asked Santa for a bike.

Finally it was Hunter's turn. He asked Santa to bring him a new DVD player. Hunter loves to watch movies and the one he had finally broke after all these years of using it. This one has a 9 in screen that he doesn't have to hold in his face like the one he previously had.

Joshua got this cool flight suit from Papa Dorman. I have had him looking for one for months now and he just came across one at one of the thrift stores he goes by. Joshua wants to be an F-16 fighter pilot once he is done with high school, his mission, and college. We Skyped Papa back to show him the flight suit and had the opportunity to talk with Uncle James. That was one of my highlights of the day. We haven't talked with him in over a year. Uncle James is still Uncle James and made me laugh with his jokes. I really miss seeing him on a daily basis!

This is Hunter later in the afternoon playing the Wii.

Rylan and I escaped upstairs for a nap. I couldn't believe how the week finally caught up with me and how tired I was. Though the anticipation and preparation is over, this was one of the best Christmas's we have had as a family. Mark was home this year and the older kids were great examples in teaching Rylan what Christmas is about. We had many activities and were quite busy but we did take the time of getting a box together for my nephew Jeff who is on his mission in Texas. We bought a few toys, hats, and mittens for Jeff to hand out to the kids in his area that may not be getting much this year. It was wonderful seeing my children serving and giving to others AND understanding the meaning behind it. I'm so proud of them. They truly magnified the example of our Savior when he was here on the earth. Merry Christmas and Have a Happy New Year!
