Well ...one of my children FINALLY took a pair of scissors to their hair. And of all children, Josh was the least I had expected! It took me a day in half to realize that he had done it. He was sly and comb his bangs over to the side after he got out of the shower the day he did it. It wasn't until the next morning, late morning mind you after looking at him, I finally asked, "Did you cut your bangs?" Immediately, the head hung low of embarrassment and quietly you heard, "yes". My next question was "Why, we've been growing your hair back out?" The reply, " My bangs were in my eyes." I said, "Nope not good enough, try again." "I wanted my hair to be short like daddy's." I looked at him and said, "Come on Josh, your Dad's hair is not that short." Finally, "He said, "I don't know why mom, I just did it, I wanted to see if the scissors would cut my hair." And it was that moment I realized, he totally had a valid answer to my question of "Why", that I could accept. Josh was totally curious...he was being a kid and doing what all kids pretty much do. I mean come on how many of us didn't attempt and conquer the same curiosity or have a sibling do it for us? As I later told him, "Don't worry about it, we'll get it fixed. It's just a part of being a kid just be thankful it isn't any worse than what it is". I took him on Saturday to the base barber shop and yes that was an experience in itself trying to explain to the JAPANESE barber who barely spoke any ENGLISH as to what happened and if he could FIX it. He just stared and ran his comb a few times over his bangs and then gave a little laugh and said, "I FIX!". Needless to say, he did fix and we are back to a flat top and taking an extra 5 minutes in the morning time doing his hair. After it was all said and done, I told Mark....It was Bound to Happen!

I'm glad you got pictures!!! Someday Josh will show these to his curious little boys who cut their own hair!! What goes around comes around, you know. :)

Very Funny! At least he is a boy and looks good in short hair!!! Remember Kallie cutting Sydney's hair. That was an awful growout and took forever! His hair looks pretty good! Love ya, WIll show pic's to kids!
Stephanie
Benjamin did that in Mrs. Scott's class, plus 2 shirts and pants got snipped, and Haleigh did hers, too--you right about kids doing stuff like that. Benjamin's is already grown out and he's growing his hair again.
