Did I happen to mention that Japan has earthquakes? Not sure if I did...so I am now! Amid my morning of sleep, we had an earthquake at 4:30 in the morning about 100 miles from here . It read 5.7 on the Richter scale, which is consider moderate. Of course, I slept right through it as well as the kids, but apparently my friend
JoAnn was awaken by the shaking and rattling of her house when the earthquake occurred. Unbelievable! Yes, I knew we were on a fault line, but it just never occurred to me that we would ever actually have one. It's not my first I have ever experienced. I remember when
Steph & Jeff were getting married, I went to California early before the wedding and was
hang'n out on the beach and I felt one. For one that comes from the south in the United States and used to the
excitement of hurricanes & tornadoes, I was bummed that I missed this. Mark called from Alaska to check on us and I just had no clue! Aside from the fact that I missed it, I guess my next project will be making an "earthquake emergency plan", so Grammy Barbie doesn't worry...I'm on it Mom! If you're interested, I have included a map and basic details below. I mainly looked it up to have for
journaling purposes, but thought some of you might be interested also. M~

If your house did not shake and everything fall out of the cabinets, you are very fortunate. You do not want to experience a full scale earthquake. Say your prayers it never happens while you all are living there. Will add to my prayer list!!!! Thanks for the map so we understand where the 100 mile mark was. Stay safe. Love Mom
Glad to hear you are all safe. I'm sure you will have a chance to expreience another while you are over there. :)
