Another Earthquake!

Well, we had another earthquake in the middle of the night! I have to say this one made me a bit nervous as my entire house shook and things were falling off the walls and out of cabinets. Hunter & I were the only ones up burning the midnight hour. Joshua, Hailey & Rylan slept thru it all and Mark was at work! Out of all the cities that reported feeling the effects, Misawa felt it the most and it is was listed as a Type VI earthquake. (see chart below) The base had no major structural damage. Not sure of damage that may have occurred off base.

The following report listed below was released by the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center:
An earthquake occurred about 25 km (15 miles) east-northeast of Morioka at 9:26
AM MDT, Jul 23, 2008 (Jul 24 at 12:26 AM local time in Japan). The magnitude
and location may be revised when additional data and further analysis results
are available. The Felt Reports indicate Dozens of people injured, landslides
occurred, roads closed, train service and power disrupted in northern Honshu.
Felt widely in southern Hokkaido and in Honshu as far south as the Tokyo
area.

The information and maps I have below will give you a better idea of the intensity and where we are located. And yes for the record, this one has reminded me to get our 72-hour emergency kits ready!

So glad you are all safe. Hope Hunter is feeling better. When we talked on the phone, I could tell he was still scared. Hopefully what I said to him gave him a little comfort. Take good care and will talk to you soon. Love Mom

What an adventure you are having! I hope things settle down and are totally uneventful for when Mark is gone. Keep a smile on your face, and I'm sure you'll all be fine.
